Die Berner Kantonsverwaltung ist einiges besser als ihr Ruf. Wie wir hier lesen können, ist der Umfang des Bernischen Verwaltungsapparats kleiner als bei manch anderem Kanton. Die Politiker und Sparfüchse die das Resultat kommentieren, mögen dies nicht verstehen, aber deshalb muss es noch lange nicht falsch sein. Im Gegenteil.
Übrigens. Wie wir in diesem Bericht sehen können, arbeiten die meisten Angestellten des Kantons in der Gesundheits- und Fürsprgedirektion, der Polizeidirektion und der Universität und Fachhochschulen. Wer also radikal beim Kantonshaushalt sparen will, spart zwangsläufig bei den wichtigsten Anliegen der Bevölkerung: seiner Gesundheit, seiner Sicherheit und der Bildung.
Der von bürgerlicher Seite kolportierte Sparwahnsinn mus aufhören. Bern hat mehr verdient als tiefe Steuern auf Kosten von SchülerInnen, Kranken und PolizistInnen.
